I currently instruct courses in French language, civilization, and literature at the University of Michigan and have taught and tutored French for over a decade, from most elementary to advanced levels. Prior to U of M, I taught French in both high-school and collegiate settings. I have tutored over 50 students privately over the years, and ALL my students have seen IMMEDIATE improvement in their grades.
Having had the unique experience of taking and working with the Advanced Placement (AP) in French, as well as the SAT II and AATF exams in French, I have no problem teaching high school and college students what it takes to "beat the test" to obtain high grades.
Several of my former students (both college and high school level) have pulled their average from a "C-" to an "A" in less than a month. I have tricks to learn French that one will not find elsewhere. Additionally, I have worked with ALL the French textbooks that U of M uses and know them well.
My students who have never taken French have exhibited leaps in their ability to communicate in French in DAYS.
I can tailor private sessions to your learning style. Students with disabilities or special needs are fully accommodated. Your success is my TOP priority.
I am also available to do professional quality CV, translations, thesis editing/proofing, and cover letter editing from English to French (or vice-versa). My former clients have even landed interviews with corporations, such as Chanel and Dior in Paris, with their edited cover letters! Please contact for translation pricing.
My rate is $60/hr. for private, on-campus tutoring in a fully equipped classroom. Tuition is non-negotiable. PayPal and cash are accepted.
Please feel free to contact me at any time. References available upon request.
My teaching specialty has extended into literary analysis, essay writing, and reading strategies in English; and I have assisted numerous students in these areas. In particular, my former students include those taking "Introductory to English Literature" and "Introduction to Composition" at U of M.
