Experience

Having taught religion and philosophy full-time for a quarter century at Oakland Community College, I am retiring somewhat early to devote more time to creative writing and the education of my own children. However, I would like to continue teaching in a more relaxed, one-on-one setting where the primary emphasis is on learning and not acquiring credit. Also, through writing novels and screenplays as well as acting and directing in community and school theater. I've discovered a gift for helping people unleash, focus and develop their literary and dramatic talent. Finally, since my wife is Vietnamese, I've spent some time in foreign cultures learning to communicate with little knowledge of the native language but excellent knowledge of my own. That is much of what teaching ESL is about.
