Experience
I am currently a doctoral candidate for the prestigious Princeton University for the German department. I have taught German language as well as literature and philosophy here since the year 2008, and have consistently received high remarks from students during evaluations. My undergraduate degree was in the field of biology as well as German from the University of Michigan. It is a personal belief of mine that a teacher's primary duty is to understand how best to help the student by learning each student's style of learning and tailoring the lessons according to what will benefit that student the most. Before tutoring new students, I like to perform an evaluation to figure out whether the student is an auditory learner, a visual learner, or a combined learner. I then use this to better develop my teaching methods around the individual. I currently live in the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan and can instruct students in the topics of German 1, 2, 3, and 4, European history, biology, GRE preparation, science, social studies, languages, college essay writing and editing, critical analysis and reasoning skills, essay editing, grammar and mechanics, writing, literature, reading, MCAT preparation, English, GRE analytical writing, and GRE subject tests. When I am not helping to tutor students or teaching I enjoy playing piano, contemporary poetry, backpacking, and singing karaoke.
