Experience
I'm a full-time tutor with six years of experience working with students of all ages. In that time, I've helped hundreds of students master a wide range of subjects. As we work together, I identify where my students are struggling and help them choose strategies to overcome these difficulties. I constantly push my students to work hard and master the basics, but I also help them discover how enjoyable learning can be when they take ownership of their work, tap into their creativity, and ask deeper-level questions that connect what they're learning to their own life and the world around them. In addition to private tutoring, I spent five years at the Harlem Children's Zone in New York City, where I tutored students in math and English and taught art classes. THE LESSONS: I meet students in their homes or at coffee shops, parks, or libraries. During our first meeting, we'll discuss your academic goals and create a plan for our future work together. The lessons themselves vary, from demanding study sessions to more creative activities. For my younger students, I regularly design immersive, hands-on games.
