I'm a tutor with a broad academic background, and I can help students learn many things. My specialty is helping students become better writers. My time in tutoring and as an editor has given me the experience of working with students of all ages and abilities. I've helped kindergarten students develop literacy skills. I've helped high school students write policy essays for admission to top colleges. I've been a TA, a workshop teacher, and a tutor of literacy for at risk and low income students. I've also help students who claimed to hate writing and reading and transformed them into excellent, confident writers. Overall, my students and been very successful in writing and in other topics that I've tutored them in. I'm looking forward to helping students in essay writing and editing, English grammar and syntax, literature, phonics, reading, history, study skills and organization, math, and in test preparation for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, HSPT, and other admissions and assessment exams. When I have free time, of course I love to write. I enjoy writing fiction in particular. I also am a voracious reader. Outside of that, another activity I enjoy is riding my bike around Chicago.
