In 2010 I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan's Residential College. I majored in Humanities, minored in Gender & Health, and graduated with the distinction of Highest Honors.
Experience
Tutoring Experience: Throughout college I tutored elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate students in Detroit, Ypsilanti, and Ann Arbor. On the University of Michigan's campus, I have facilitated classes in writing, women's studies, ESL, and Spanish. I have also taught at Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development and at St. Mark’s Academy in Argentina. Additionally, as an employee of the U-M Office of Admissions, I guided hundreds of high school students through the college application process. Recently I have worked as the Coordinator of Academic Resources for the Michigan Community Scholars Program where I supported freshmen in their transition to studying at the college level. Then I worked as the Student Affairs Program Specialist for U-M's Residential College where I did everything from academic advising to student leadership development. Currently, I work as a professional writer, a researcher at the U-M Hospital, and an English proficiency evaluator for Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments.
