Experience
I have taught middle school for 29 years (Brighton Public Schools). I have excelled as a reading tutor and as a math teacher. I began my career as a special education teacher working with students who have learning differences and behavioral issues. Seeing the need, after 10 years, I moved into teaching math. I stayed primarily with this subject in the 6th through 8th grades. In addition to math, I have very successfully taught reading to middle school students placed in a class for those who are struggling readers. I currently teach Intro to Algebra, Algebra and Geometry.

Hobbies
I enjoy the subject of math very much and work constantly to learn more about the subjects I teach. I am an avid reader and am awash in books as most readers are. I am a member of the Ann Arbor Dog Training Club as well as an instructor and compete in the dog sport of agility. I have three dogs, two miniature schnauzers and one border collie. I am a runner, biker, train with weights and a beginning yogi. I enjoy the humor and youthfulness of the middle school age student and thrive in this environment. I have lived in Ann Arbor for 37 years, as a student and as a teacher for Brighton Public Schools. I grew up in Manchester, Michigan.
