Experience
I have been a tutor for over 5 years, both in the US and in Korea while I was there teaching Kindergarten and ESL. I am former classroom teacher with a Master's degree in Education, so I understand teaching, learning, and classroom dynamics very well. Oftentimes students' struggles have as much to do with their relationship (or lack thereof) with their teachers as they do any possible gaps in conceptual understanding. I believe it is important for students to see tutoring as a positive experience and part of their day. Inundating an already struggling student, who may already be disenchanted by school, with more tedious instruction is counter intuitive. My goal is connect with my tutoring students, and encourage them to make the most out of their personalized learning opportunity!

I love teaching. I love baseball. I love learning new things. I love reading new stories. I love riding my bike. I still eat Spaghettios, but not as often as I used to--I swear! I love to go out and play as many sports as my body will allow me to handle (I'm over 30 now!), and so far I've been holding up okay :) I also like Broadway show tunes...but don't tell anybody!
