Experience
I am an experienced, certified ESL tutor with teaching experience in both one-on-one and classroom settings. I have been a tutor with Washtenaw Literacy for the past four years and have received training and certification through that organization. Previously, I have taught English in Taiwan and Japan to both children and adults. And I have limited language skills in Chinese and Japanese. Additionally, I have taught at the college level and other adult education classes. I am also a published author. I strongly believe that teachers should be flexible enough to meet each unique person’s needs in terms of both how they learn and what they want to learn. Classes will be planned around your goals as an English language learner. Having spent time in other countries myself, I understand some of the difficulties of living in a place with a foreign language. So I will assist you in learning what is both practical and useful to you for living and working in another culture. My teaching style is caring and patient.
