Experience

I have taught university and high school physics for over 25 years. (My resume http://bit.ly/BarclayRes). I was chosen as the Michigan High School Science Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Science Teachers Association in 2016. I have taught Advanced Placement Physics at West Bloomfield High School since 1992, and the most common score of my students is 5/5 on the challenging AP Physics exams. If you are looking for the very best physics tutoring available in Michigan, then I am pleased to be at your service. No matter what your skill level, or how difficult or scary you may find physics to be, I can help you succeed in this challenging and fascinating subject. I am well versed in physics demonstrations, teaching techniques, and mnemonics that can help you improve your understanding and hence your test scores as quickly as possible. I also specialize in powerful problem solving techniques that make even the most challenging problems solvable by any student. In 2016, I won the Michigan High School Science Teacher of the Year award for my work teaching Physics. If you truly seek the best tutoring available in Michigan, then I look forward to hearing from you. I charge on a sliding scale (dependent upon family income) so that I may serve all students regardless of financial limitations.

Hobbies

I really consider physics teaching to not only be my job, but also my calling and hobby as well. During the summer, I do "night sky tours" for outdoor groups, pointing out notable stars, constellations and even galaxies all visible with the unaided eye. In addition, I enjoy playing and teaching guitar, camping and identifying native plants. I am also a renewable energy enthusiast and power my home entirely with renewable energy.
